    Abstract

This submission is an original, creative writing and performance research output in the form of a critique and contextualisation of miniature Studio Textiles as part of the Wangaratta 'petite' Miniature National Textile Biennial Award exhibition opening and conference. My research over the past decade, investigating the history of contemporary miniature Studio textiles informed my critique and contextualisation of the development and diversity of this form in Australia in relation to the internationally recognised wider discipline of miniature Studio Textiles. Established in 1969 in Lausanne, Switzerland, miniature Textiles are significant because of the negotiation of limited form and related content. This genre of textile practice has been the subject of international textile exhibitions for over 40 years.
