Abstract

Photoelectron asymmetry parameters beta have been measured for ionisations from the valence molecular orbitals of the molecules CFCl3, CF 2Cl2 using CF3Cl using photons in the energy range 18-80 eV. Cooper minima are observed in the beta spectra for ionisation from orbitals with substantial chlorine 3p character. For Cf2Cl 2, three resonances are observed in beta spectra which are tentatively assigned to shape resonances.
