    Abstract

My aim was to write or adapt a poem that would work as 'public art' in a local government project. Wagga Wagga City Council and Booranga Writers' Centre worked together to create the Wagga Wagga Bus Stop Poetry Posters. A public invitation was sent out for submissions of poems that were about, or in some way inspired by the city of Wagga Wagga.107 entries were received and a final eight poems, including one of mine, were selected to be displayed on eight Bus Stops around Wagga Wagga. This projects celebrates the City of Wagga and attempts to share something beautiful with people in their transitions between daily tasks, to promote 'public art'.
