Abstract
This is a recount of a brief encounter between Professor Manohar Pawar and Professor Abye Tasse and their reflective dialogue on poverty alleviation and policy. The dialogue brings out that the paths of poverty alleviation are obvious, but those paths are thwarted by the governance issues and a lack of political will. It also highlights the significance of culture and a social development perspective into social work curricula towards poverty alleviation.
