Abstract
In February and March 2021 the NSW Department of Primary Industries held a series of eight Shark Management Strategy (SMS) online information sessions targeting coastal Councils and other key stakeholders in different geographic regions of New South Wales.
Each information session presented an overview of the SMS since 2015, including mitigation measures used, trials, results, and findings from research. After the online information sessions, Coastal Councils, other stakeholder organisations, and individuals were invited to complete a survey expressing their preferences for shark management into the future.
All 25 Coastal Councils, 40 stakeholder organisations, and 4023 individual Community members completed the survey.
