Abstract
Featuring short films of all shapes and sizes, Woodland is a grass-roots celebration of film and kinship, a collision of creativity and community and a unique outlet for filmmakers of all calibres to showcase their work. Set in the picturesque mountain town of Tumbarumba, Woodland is setting out to show the world that locals can stage an event that metropolitan cities would be proud of. Organised by John Riddell, Laura Fraumeni, Lauren Tibballs, the festival required professional services for editing, transcoding, subtitling and post production work in 2013 after a highly successful inaugural year where the team won the "Community Event of the Year at the Tumbarumba shire's Australia Day Awards". Andrew Hagan was responsible for the 15 remastered films playing over two nights at the RSL Memorial Hall for festival attendees. Video problems were corrected in industry standard compositing/non-linear software and audio normalised for a consistent playback. The source footage was not modified in any way that compromised the original look of the production and full acknowledgment of filmmaker's decisions was respected.
