Abstract

This chapter has introduced psychological interventionsin the general practice context. It has focused on stress management and relaxation strategies, focused psychological strategies with cognitive behavioural and interpersonal foci as well as on how to choose and use psychological interventions. However, this chapter is not a substitute for training and supervision in the interventions. GPs who are interested in this are encouraged to access their local training providers, both profession based and government.
