Abstract
This review analyses the paintings of Hill End artist Rosemary Valadon whose exhibition is Bathurst Regional Gallery attracted local politicians as well as model and writer Tara Moss. My review promotes the Bathurst community as a place of artistic richness. My analysis of Valadon's particularly feminine subjects embraces the beauty of women in a way that affirms their subjectivity. Her art is therefore subversive in disrupting an artistic and glossy magazine tradition of objectifying women.
