RUM based calcium pulse modeling

It is believed that plants have developed very sensitive mechanisms through which they can perceive and respond to stimuli, like subtle touch. Signaling molecules and phytohormones including intracellular calcium have been implicated in touch responses. The modeling of calcium pulse helps us enable elucidation of the mechanisms through which plants perceive mechano-stimuli. Kernel based machine learning methods have been demonstrated as powerful modeling tools. In this paper, a new machine learning method, the Relevance Units Machine (RUM), is used to fit calcium pulses.
