Sacramental poetics in Richard Hooker and George Herbert: Exploring the abundance of God

Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

This book explores the notion of sacramental poetics in the writings of two significant Anglican theologians: Richard Hooker and George Herbert. The work of both is examined to show that they explore beyond the obvious in their writing on the sacraments - hence the link with sacramental poetics. The book also explores the notion of the abundance of God as addressed by both Hooker and Herbert and in the wider Anglican tradition.
