Abstract

Coagulation testing represents common investigative tools for various clinical indications (Table 1). The two most common requested tests are prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) [1,2]. Other common tests include fibrinogen, D-dimer, and thrombin time (TT). The PT may also be performed as international normalised ratio (INR) for vitamin K antagonist (VKA) therapy monitoring [1].
