Abstract

‘Scanxiety’, a term coined to describe anxiety during cancer-related imaging, is a common and significant challenge in patient care across diverse clinical and demographic groups.1,2 However, despite its prevalence in research, there remains an absence of qualitative insights capturing patients’ experiences of scanxiety in their own words. Within the framework of patient-centred care, highlighting patient voices cultivates resilience by recognising their unique needs, thus enabling active involvement in their healthcaredecisions.3 This review therefore addresses the following research question: What are the experiences of scanxiety among people affected by cancer across the cancer care continuum?
