Abstract

The chapter is divided into three main sections (the bioeconomy, risks and threat contexts and mitigation strategies). First, in order to provide necessary context to the discussion on cyberbiosecurity the chapter surveys the bioeconomy. The second section maps out the cyberbiosecurity risk/threat landscape across key sectors (national security, pharmaceuticals/health and biotechnology) to the bioeconomy including the ongoing challenges in understanding them. Thirdly, the chapter summarises thematically several factors that will be critical to mitigating against current and emerging cyberbiosecurity risks/threats.
