Abstract
A large original shadow puppet designed with reference to Arabian mythology and supernatural themes in the historical literary and visual descriptions of the djinn / efreet, developed with reference to elements of wayang kulit puppetry and the stylizations of operatic cinema in the art deco period (Hedy Lamarr's portrayal of 'The Queen of the Night').
