Abstract

A presentation for the Poetry in the World conference, University of Canberra, December 2022, in which I discussed the legacy and translations of the work of Ibn Daniyal. Hypothesis: The act of translation is a model of creative practice, and hegemonies exist to be contested. Result: An experimental shadow-concert that draws from the poetic and visual precedents of Egyptian Khayal al-zill.
