Abstract

In the context of increasing poverty and inequality, the need for sustained action towards social justice is crucial to social work. A new publication with a focus on social justice is likely to be well received by practitioners and educators looking for a thorough exposition of social justice theory and practice. While much literature depicts social justice as a core value at the axiological dimension of practice, this text provides a detailed resource for epistemological and methodological dimensions of practice, including an articulated practice framework. Drawing from a range of interdisciplinary theories, this text fills a gap in providing a practical account of social justice theory and praxis for social work.
