OtherIn 2016, the Primary Mental Health Care conference explored the many ways that mental health nurses working in primary care and community settings contribute to the mental wealth of the community – by way of our theme, which was ‘Envisioning primary care through mental health nursing’. This year’s theme ‘Primary mental health care nursing: A call to action, solutions for now and beyond’ challenges delegates to move beyond the vision, embrace the potential that currently exists in primary health care and the opportunities that exist for nurses and take steps towards making the most of these opportunities. Of course, change is almost always accompanied by some very real challenges and as such, this conference will also consider the barriers or challenges that may exist for nurses working in the primary health care space, and how these challenges may be translated into solutions.

Delegates will be challenged to consider how contemporary issues of care delivery impact on their practice and how they can re-structure their business model to meet the changing demands of the primary health care sector.
