Abstract

The Productivity Commission is currently reviewing the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Agreement. We evaluated this agreement using frameworks from the Orange Declaration on rural and remote mental health and the International Declaration on Rural Mental Health Research. We also considered the 2022-2023 Annual National Progress Report.
Our submission focuses on key themes:
1. Community Engagement and Cultural Sensitivity
2. Sustainable and Equitable Funding
3. Workforce Development and Stability
4. Service Accessibility and Integration
5. Data Collection and Outcome Measurement
The specific areas from the agreement addressed are highlighted in the appendix.
