Abstract
The submission argues that the dominant medical knowledge base in palliative care services does not adequately account for the older CALD population's experiences. The aged care sector must undertake fundamental change to build a stronger foundation for the quality of culturally appropriate care. Central to this re-envisioned approach is respect for cultural and religious practices required to follow at the end of life. The submission proposes strategies to strengthen palliative care delivery models in regional areas by providing insight from consumers’ perspective.
