Systems theory application to the risk management in environmental and human health area

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Many of the epistemological and methodological issues confronting risk assessment have been explored in general systems theory, however, the use of systems theory and systems analysis tools is still not widespread in risk management. Therefore, in this study, the authors propose the application of the systems theory methods for the holistic assessment and management of risk in the context of environmental impact on health issues. Rational for such approach is that System Theory Methods (STMs) can be applied to evaluate the complex and dynamic interactions between factors within the context of organisations, users, and the external environment.
