Abstract

This paper investigates reprts, writings, diaries and interviews with childrn form 4 separate areas of conflict to question the assumption that religion plays little part in the recruiting of suicide bombers. It examines the influence of Hinduism of Tamil Tigers, Shinto / Buddhist ideas of kamikaze pilots, the Islamic undertsanding of Ayatollah Khomeini on Iran's sucide battalions and religious influences on tSunni Palestianians in Israel.
