Abstract

This paper documents the development of the financial planning profession in Australia in light of the growing need for financial services in China. It identifies key issues on regulations and practices of the financial planning profession and argues that the Australian framework may offer important insights to the establishment of the relatively undeveloped Chinese financial services industry.
