The Ethics of Clinical Trials: To Inform or Not Inform? That is the Question.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine what appears to be an inherent conflict between the scientific validity and ethical validity of clinical trials. This apparent conflict will be discussed and examined at two levels. Firstly, at a general level which involves institutional ethics committees and clinical trial researchers, and secondly, at a personal level which involves individual physicians in their role as clinical-trial researchers.
