Abstract
The article discusses the importance of palliative care education for nursing students in Australia as most people die within healthcare facilities. Topics discussed include the need for education to include simulation activities and role modelling difficult conversations that support effective communication with patients and families and the provision of guest speaker sessions from palliative care nurses experienced in the field and from relatives of palliated persons.
