The Japanese short 20cm dual purpose guns at the Dungcas Beach, Tamuning, Guam: Appearance and state of conservation of the guns in 1994 and 2007

Abstract

This document compiles the available data on two short-barrelled 20cm naval gun, on public display at Onward Beach Hotel, Tamuning, Guam. Both guns were removed from their original positions during the hotel development and returned to their positions (albeit swapped over) in faux emplacements made from fibreglass. The report provides a photo documentation of the appearance of the guns in June 1994 and follows the appearance of the guns over time and discusses the observable pattern of corrosion.
