    Abstract

perspectives. My starting points are that children are social actors with their own ways of constructing meaning and interpreting their world, and second, that meaning is what children ascribe to their actions in the field of school mathematics learning. Meaning in this sense of the word is taken as a key notion in constituting and exploring children's perspectives. Insights into this meaning can be gained from adopting a life story approach to research that invites children to tell from their perspective. The paper ends with a methodological self reflection.
