Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to research the exercise of pastoral care of its ministers by presbyteries of the Uniting Church in Australia. From experience as a Uniting Church minister, results of Master of Ministry research and subsequent examination of past Synod reports, it was concluded that presbyteries were experiencing difficulty in providing adequate and effective pastoral care for their minister. From this basis the present research began.
