Abstract
This article published in the distinguished press Overland Literary Journal and provides fresh and innovative insights into the identity politics of gender and how it is expressed through visual art and in particular in how art is valued. The fact that the 10 most expensive paintings in the world are all done by men indicates a huge gender divide in the realm of painting and the production and valuation of art in general.
