Abstract
Witness protection programs were established by law enforcement agencies to mitigate the risks for personal safety of key witnesses. This is a Canadian case study, examining the admission of a witness into the protection program; eligibility criteria, assessment process and management procedures are evaluated through a psychological lens. Key factors identified from this research will assist in the assessment and management of witness protection participants.
