Abstract
This article addresses select Lukan themes for responsible preaching. It considers the author of the Gospel according to Luke as a public theologian, and it explores the Lukan themes of prophecy and fulfilment, the moral meaning of Luke's journey motif, the suffering and death of the "righteous one," and the hermeneutical significance of LUke's Emmaus Road episode.
