Abstract

Xantholepinone A [8,8ꞌ-dideoxysecalonic acid D] (1) has been isolated from the lichen Chrysothrix sulphurella and the structure established by mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy. A detailed assignment of the 13C-NMR spectrum of secalonic acid A (2) is also reported.
