Abstract
This chapter testifies to, and at once manifests, the power and practice of talanoa (which signifies three "events" -- story, telling, conversation), in relation to the land (vanua) and the identity of Pasifika people. The three--talanoa, land, identity--are so interwoven that one cannot explain one without also engaging the other two. This interwovenness keeps all three to the ground. Grounded. Vanua thereby reclines.
