    Abstract

Social work practice could not have been conceived in any other way than in sheer 'evidence-based practice'. It is a pity that we started using this term only more recently. We have always looked at our practice in order to improve, to focus, tore-focus and to give a better deal to our clients and to ourselves.I believe that a very small percentage of us carry those reflections to the next stage of research and writing. Therefore, in this context, this work of Joel Fischer's is a masterpiece. It is wonderful to note that his active mind conceived so many ideas, reflected and allowed him to pen them down consistently for the last 40 years. It is important to note that here is a man whose work has been daring, entrapping and certainly compelling to read.
