    Abstract

This research addressed the heterogeneity of applications and diverse protocols in wireless body area networks and produced a novel design of a Medium Access Control Protocol specific to enhance reliability of the transmitted sensory data as a crucial factor in medical applications. Energy efficiency of the system was thoroughly tested through experimental evaluations on real sensor platforms to justify its practicality.
