Abstract
This chapter explores the mythical figure of the unicorn through analysis of the videogame Robot Unicorn Attack and the satirical performances of Karen Finley. We reflect on the unicorn as an embodiment of capitalist greed linked to cultures of extraction, Indigenous dispossession and pollution resulting in a planetary crisis. We reaffirm the urgency of finding and supporting theatre and performance practices that question Western narratives of human progress in order to heighten multi-species awareness.
