Abstract

The study included a Grounded Theory research component to investigate other land-related frameworks, such as those used in Sustainable Urban Development. The research is characterised by a number of innovative approaches, the most fundamental is the development of Unified Architecture for Location Intelligence (UA4LI), designed as an integrated process to assist with developing business and technical artefacts to implement LI solutions. The UA4LI framework is comprised of a four-step process to assist with developing business and technical artefacts to implement LI initiatives. The framework includes a set of diagrams and checklists that illustrate how the information gathering and solution builds with each step. The framework leverages shared spatial services, enterprise architectures and standard patterns for rapid take up of LI. The UA4LI provides a reference framework for managers and IT staff considering introducing LI within their respective organisations.
