Abstract
The article examines the parallels between ongoing structural changes in the Australian economy and the rise of the One Nation Party (ONP) in 2016 with the help of political economy approach. ONP's nativism is a combination of nationalism with xenophobia, arguing Australia should be inhabited exclusively by members of the native group Australians while non-native elements are perceived as fundamentally threatening.
