Abstract

Creating a learning environment for educating police officers to meet the requirements of a contemporary democratic policing profession offers potential for aligning the fundamental concepts of practice-based education (PBE) with police education and practice. This chapter provides a case study of a police education programme which exemplifies the embodiment of such an alignment. A discussion of the role played by utilising simulations as a conduit for supporting the delivery of a PBE programme is presented.
