Abstract

lunar hypothesis by law enforcement officers. Stories of lunatics and their interaction with police officers during a full moon may be passed down from one generation of officers to another, reinforcing belief in the lunar hypothesis in the form of a self-fulfilling prophecy whenever an unusual event occurs during a full moon shift.
