Abstract
The article discusses the ethics of the Whitehaven Hoax by the environmental activist Jonathan Moylan. The article argues that as an act of identity theft as well as an act of intentional disinformation circulated through the online and corporate media, the hoax was unethical regardless of its ideological intention of raising awareness of an environmental issue, that may of itself warrant attention.
