    Abstract

    This chapter discusses what workplace health is and why it is a significant social problem.There is great public interest relating to workplace health since it influences individual and family costs and the economy in general. Workplace injuries and fatalities happen to a large extent and are of many different types. Further, there is inequity in the distribution of workplace injury, illness and death by occupation, industry, and sex.
